The World is at Our Fingertips

Matt, you are my hero. If only I could follow your footsteps, or dance moves. Many people probably think my travels are just a way to spend my parents money or that I do it because I'm leading an unfulfilled life in Roanoke/ Cville. False. I do it because I love seeing the world with new eyes, everything's different when you're sharing a meal with Grecians or driving down the dirt roads of Africa. Puts everything into perspective. The best way to travel is cheap anyways- lodge in a hostel with 8 strangers (one of which sleeps in a speedo)- it makes for great adventures. It's also a great way to meet interesting people- Hiene, thanks for letting me be your #1 pirate aboard your ship! There are so many pretty places that my eyes have yet to see, can't wait until I get the chance to experience them all!

Next up: New Zealand. Followed by: Switzerland

Remember Me

"One for Remember Me, please"
Just one. Today, for the first time (of many to come I believe), I went to a movie all alone. I wanted to see 'Remember Me' so badly, I figured, why wait for anyone to accompany me? I knew people would probably think, 'aw, poor girl has no one to go with' (I know I do that). But I LOVED it! I went up to that ticket counter and asked for one ticket, and was totally fine with it. I sat down in a row by myself, and was totally fine with it. I cried by myself, and was totally fine with it. People might look and stare, but ya just have to have the confidence and own it. I think it's going to be a new hobby of mine in fact. I don't exactly why, but it was almost liberating to go alone to be enraptured by the movie.

On another note- Remember Me was a fabulous movie. It's not a sappy love story that I thought it'd be, it actually does have depth to it.
Today was the perfect setting... after it was over, I stepped out into the rain, sat in my car and cried for another 5 minutes while the rain pitter-pattered on the windows... and everyone knows that's the best way to cry.

A good reminder from the movie:
"whatever you do in life will be insignificant but it's very important that you do it"

SEVEN UP

Most of you think of the childhood game, you know, everyone puts their head down, and people go around tapping you, the goal being trying to successfully guess who tapped you. It was usually someone that had a crush on you or something cheesy like that. But Kaplan has put a new, witty twist to the name SEVEN UP.

Seminiferous tubules
Epididymis
Van deferens
Ejaculatory duct
(Nothing)
Urethra
Penis

There ya have it... a whole knew meaning to Seven Up. Learn it!
